March 15, 2006 Lexington, KY – Local dentist, J. Fred Arnold, III, DMD, AAACD has been recognized in both the 2004 – 2005 and 2005 – 2006 editions of “The Guide to America’s Top Dentists.”  Arnold was selected by the Consumer Research Council of America, which is an independent company based in Washington, D.C. that evaluates professional services throughout America.  No fees, sponsorships, donations, or advertising are accepted from dentists, dental treatment facilities or dental referral organizations to insure an unbiased selection.

“To be chosen independently as one of the nation’s top dentists is quite an honor,” said Dr. Arnold, founder of the Cosmetic Dentistry Center of Lexington.  “My passion has always been excellence in dentistry, focusing first on my patients.  It is very meaningful to be recognized for outstanding dentistry when the focus is truly the patient.”

Dr. Arnold, along with talented local plastic surgeon Dr. Henry Wells, has also selected two recipients for Project Makeover, extreme makeovers shown on WKYT television.   Both received complete smile makeovers.  “The results that Dr. Arnold got have changed my life forever,” commented Mrs. Brenda Reynolds, from Project Makeover I. “I am so grateful that he was able to completely makeover my smile.  Now I am proud to smile a lot.”

Dr. Arnold achieved board accreditation in cosmetic dentistry from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) in 2003.  He is one of only 252 people in the world to reach this skill level.  He was elected to the seven-member American Board of Cosmetic Dentistry, the credentialing authority of the AACD in 2005.  He also serves the AACD as an examiner.  Dr. Arnold is a charter member of the Kentucky Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has served as its program chairman.  He has also published articles in the “Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry” and is active teaching other dentists cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
