When I flew in from LA to have dental work done in Lexington
my manager thought I was nuts. 'Why not get it done in LA'
she said, 'there are dentists here'. The truth is that it
was faster, less painful (I am a HUGE wimp) more pleasant,
(I mean where in LA could you get a paraffin hand treatment,
aromatherapy and a Bose headset with soothing music for
a dental visit!) and much more relaxing than if I had stayed
in LA and had it done. Big cities are not exactly known
for straight dealing and great patient care, more likely
my dentist would send out a mold of my tooth to a lab in
Maine or Minnesota and get back the new one in 2 - 3 weeks.
Then, if it doesn't fit or the color is wrong I'm stuck
with another 2 week wait or a tooth that isn't right. Having
a bright white natural looking smile is part of how I make
my living so it was pretty important to me. I have since
landed several roles.
