May 5, 2005 Madison, WI  –  J. Fred Arnold, III, DMD, AAACD of Lexington, KY has been elected to the American Board of Cosmetic Dentistry of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD).  Dr. Arnold was elected at the organization’s 21st Annual Scientific Session, held in Nashville, Tennessee from April 19 – 23, 2005.

“I am honored to serve on the American Board of Cosmetic Dentistry of the AACD.  This is the premier organization for advancing modern cosmetic dentistry, and I am excited to help lead the profession into the future,” commented Dr. Arnold.

The AACD’s American Board of Cosmetic Dentistry oversees the organization’s Accreditation process, the only advanced credentialing program for cosmetic dental professionals of its kind.  Their chief duty is to uphold the high standards of clinical excellence in cosmetic dentistry that the AACD represents.

Dr. Arnold achieved board accreditation in cosmetic dentistry from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) in 2003.  He is one of only 252 people in the world to reach this skill level.  He also serves the AACD as an examiner.  Dr. Arnold is a charter member of the Kentucky Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has served as its program chairman.  He has also published articles in the “Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry” and is active teaching other dentists cosmetic and restorative dentistry.

The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry is the largest international dental organization dedicated specifically to the art and science of cosmetic dentistry.  Founded in 1984, the AACD has nearly 7,000 members in the United States and over 50 countries worldwide.  Members of the Academy include cosmetic and reconstructive dentists, dental laboratory technicians, dental hygienists, dental assistants, educators, researchers, and students.
