At home teeth whitening has also proven itself to be safe in many clinical situations over the past 10 years. In order to provide the treatment to our patients, we first take impressions of your teeth that allow us to create custom trays for your bleaching. Then, we send you home with a kit made up of trays, bleach and instructions.

At home teeth whitening is controlled by our patients. You will place bleaching gel inside the thin comfortable trays and fit them over your teeth. As you whiten your teeth, the peroxide gel is broken down and oxygen enters the enamel and the dentin. This whitens the discolored areas, but the structure of the tooth is not changed. The color of the teeth is simply made lighter.

As for the results, many of our patients notice a change after one night. Optimum natural whiteness usually occurs when the process is continued for up to 14 days. Of course, we will discuss your individual situation with you.
The results’ duration depends largely on your teeth’s continued exposure to staining elements. Maintenance bleaching is recommended on an individual basis, as well.
