Dr. Fred Arnold, III has been
accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
(aacd.com),
making
him one of only five in Kentucky and 246 in the world.
Dr. Arnold graduated from the University of
Kentucky College of Dentistry with high distinction in 1984
and completed a general practice residency at the
Wright-Patterson Medical Center in Dayton,
Ohio, in 1985. To insure his objective of providing his patients
the highest quality dentistry available anywhere, Dr. Arnold
averages over 100 hours of advanced continuing education
a year, even though minimum licensure requirements are only
15 hours per year in Kentucky. These have included, within
the last 5 years, graduation from the prestigious Las Vegas
Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, The Center for Esthetic
Excellence, and both levels of the Louisiana State University
Cosmetic Dentistry Continuums.

According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
(AACD) an Accredited member “has completed extensive
training and education in cosmetic dentistry. In addition,
this credentialed
dentist or technician has successfully passed a rigorous Accreditation
Board Examination and has demonstrated a very high level
of technical
skill and ability in cosmetic dentistry.”
Presently there is not an American Dental Association (ADA) recognized
specialty in cosmetic dentistry. In 1984 the AACD was formed by
a group of forward-thinking individuals, dedicated to continuing
education in the rapidly evolving field of cosmetic dentistry
since it was not being taught in the dental schools. The AACD
developed a credentialing process for cosmetic dentistry, which
has become the standard of excellence in the field (aacd.com).
Dr. Arnold’s expertise has been published in the highly
acclaimed Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry, which sets the standards
in cosmetic dentistry.
Cosmetic dentistry is not a sideline for Dr. Arnold. Most general
dentists will dabble in some cosmetic dentistry from time to time.
Dr. Arnold does cosmetic dentistry everyday and has performed
thousands of porcelain veneers, which are the premier cosmetic
restoration used in smile makeovers. |
